Big Launches This Week: vivo S30, Xiaomi 15S Pro with Xring O1, and More

The tech world saw a whirlwind of announcements this week. Kicking things off, vivo confirmed the launch of its S30 and S30 Pro mini for May 29 in China. These stylish phones will be available in pink, yellow, blue, and black.

Leaks suggest the S30 may pack a massive 6,500mAh battery, while the S30 Pro mini will run on the Dimensity 9400e chipset.

Huawei made headlines with its MateBook Fold Ultimate – an 18-inch foldable laptop that shrinks to the size of a 13-inch device. With a 4:3 OLED LTPO display capable of 1,600 nits brightness and ultra-efficient power use, this futuristic laptop weighs just 1.16kg and measures only 14.9mm when closed. It even supports a virtual keyboard or a 5mm wireless one for ultra-portability.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi officially unveiled the 15S Pro – the first phone powered by its homegrown Xring O1 chipset. Fabricated using TSMC’s 3nm N3E process, the chip sports a 10-core CPU, a 16-core Immortalis-G925 GPU, and a powerful 6-core NPU delivering 44 TOPS. Benchmarks are impressive: over 3 million points on AnTuTu, and better multi-core performance than Apple’s A18 Pro in Geekbench 6. This chipset supports LPDDR5T RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, Wi-Fi 7, and a custom Xiaomi ISP.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi is teasing the 16, launching in September with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC and a 6,800mAh battery with 100W charging. Design-wise, it closely follows the 15 Pro’s footsteps.

In the world of ultra-thin devices, Infinix is prepping the Hot 60 Pro+, expected to be under 6mm thick, making it the slimmest curved phone yet.

The OnePlus 13s is also on the way, launching in India on June 5 with new color options including an exclusive Green Silk variant and a unique Velvet Glass finish.

And finally, it’s officially the end of support for Nothing Phone (1), which won’t receive the upcoming Android 16 update.

Stay tuned—there’s a lot more tech excitement on the horizon.
