Xiaomi 16 May Feature Huge 7,000mAh Battery and Elite Specs

Xiaomi 16 Could Arrive With a Massive 7,000mAh Battery – Here’s What We Know

As the launch of the Xiaomi 16 approaches, expected around late September in China, new leaks continue to stir excitement. The latest buzz? The phone could come with a whopping 7,000mAh battery – larger than any previous rumor suggested.

Initially, battery estimates for the Xiaomi 16 hovered around 6,500 to 6,800mAh. But now, a reliable tipster from China claims the phone will boast a full 7,000mAh cell. If accurate, this would represent a massive upgrade from the Xiaomi 15’s 5,240mAh battery, addressing one of the biggest concerns users have with modern smartphones: battery life.

Alongside the giant battery, the Xiaomi 16 is expected to feature a flat OLED display between 6.3 and 6.39 inches, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite (a.k.a. Snapdragon 8 Elite 2) chipset. This powerhouse setup is likely to make it a beast for gaming and multitasking.

The camera setup, too, is shaping up to impress, with leaks suggesting three 50 MP sensors on the back. The main sensor is said to be a large 1/1.3” type, and there may be a periscope telephoto lens for zoom lovers.

While the Xiaomi 16 looks exciting, pricing concerns remain. Some users point out that while Xiaomi continues to offer high-end features, prices are creeping into flagship territory. Still, others note that the base models remain competitive against rivals like Samsung – especially outside Western markets.

One lingering question is whether Xiaomi will listen to fans asking for a compact version – a ‘Mini’ or ‘14T Mini’ variant. However, history shows small phones don’t sell as well as their larger siblings, particularly as media consumption and mobile gaming continue to dominate user behavior.

Bottom line: the Xiaomi 16 could be the battery king of 2025, balancing cutting-edge specs with enormous battery capacity – if the price remains right.

Still waiting for them to fix MIUI bloat instead of just cramming more juice in the phone 🥴

Sounds great on paper, but the price better not jump like last year. I miss affordable flagships 😔
