Gemini just got a serious glow-up – and it may have just made traditional reminders obsolete.
Google has rolled out a new feature called scheduled actions to its Gemini app, turning the AI from a reactive assistant into a proactive, daily helper.
This smart upgrade is already available to users with a Google AI Pro or Ultra plan, as well as to those on supported Google Workspace accounts. And here’s the kicker: it’s cross-platform. Yep, even iPhone users can jump in on the action, so long as they have the Gemini app installed and the right subscription.
The real magic? Gemini can now automate routine and one-off tasks based on your commands. Want a daily briefing of your calendar and unread emails? Done. Need Gemini to remind you of blog ideas every Monday? You got it. Want a recap of a sports event the day after? Easy. It’s all possible with a simple voice or text prompt.
Controlling these actions is seamless, thanks to a new Scheduled Actions tab within the app’s settings. You can tweak, manage, and review your automations from one clean interface – no tech degree required.
These enhancements are part of Google’s broader plan to make Gemini feel less like a chatbot and more like a true digital assistant. At Google I/O this year, the company made clear its focus on building AI that actively supports users – and this update delivers on that vision.
So, instead of saying, “Hey Gemini, remind me,” you’ll soon be saying, “Hey Gemini, just handle it.” No extra downloads, no waiting – it’s live now on both Android and iOS. Just fire up the Gemini app and start scheduling your digital life.
Looks like your sticky notes just got fired.
