Scott Pilgrim EX: A New Chapter in Retro Brawler Fun

After the excitement surrounding the 2021 re-release of Ubisoft’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game, it seems that the gaming world is in for another nostalgic treat. Introducing Scott Pilgrim EX, a new adventure that blends old-school brawler mechanics with a fresh narrative, created in collaboration with Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley.

Set for release in early 2026, Scott Pilgrim EX promises to be more than just a rehash of the classic. This game brings together all the elements of a four-player co-op brawler and wraps them in an exciting new story. Players can control Scott, Ramona, and five other iconic characters from the series as they face off against demons, robots, and other enemies, all within a reimagined version of Toronto.

The soundtrack is once again entrusted to the incredible Anamanaguchi, who return with their signature blend of energetic chiptune music. Additionally, the game’s art has been crafted by the talented pixel artist Paul Robertson, known for his work on iconic games like Shovel Knight and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game.

As if that weren’t enough, the game is being consulted on by BenDavid Grabinski, the director of the Scott Pilgrim Takes Off animated series. With all these familiar faces working behind the scenes, it’s no wonder fans are buzzing with anticipation.

This marks the second game in the Scott Pilgrim franchise, following the beloved 2010 release and its 2021 modern-day remake. Developed by Tribute Games, a studio formed by former Ubisoft employees, this project has the full backing of the original team, ensuring that it will stay true to the spirit of the series.
