Samsung is preparing for the debut of its upcoming foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, at an Unpacked event next month, possibly in New York City. 
As the launch draws nearer, new leaks continue to surface, revealing exciting details, particularly about the camera improvements.
The latest leak highlights significant upgrades to the camera systems, thanks to a next-gen ProVisual Engine. What exactly is this engine? It’s a powerful AI-driven suite designed to assist both amateur and professional photographers and videographers, ensuring top-tier shots, optimized edits, and smooth footage. Initially introduced with the Galaxy S24 series, the ProVisual Engine made its way into the S25 series, and now it’s set to elevate the foldable experience as well.
The Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are set to benefit from this enhanced ProVisual Engine, promising major improvements such as:
- Sharper and clearer image output
- Better digital zoom performance
- Smoother video stability
AI-powered photography fans should be excited for these developments. However, what’s even more thrilling for many is the potential for a complete camera overhaul on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. While this sounds promising, the current foldable champion, the Oppo Find N5, is just 8.9mm thick when unfolded. The Z Fold 7 is reportedly 9mm thick, which is a marginal difference you likely won’t notice in daily use.
If you’re considering purchasing a foldable now, it might be worth waiting a little longer until Samsung unveils its next-generation devices. Once all the details are official, you’ll be able to make a better-informed decision. For those leaning toward flip-style foldables, the upcoming Motorola Razr Ultra (2025) looks like a near-perfect contender, but I’m still curious to see if Samsung surprises us with something unexpected.
