The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has certified a Samsung device with the model number SM-F966B

. Based on Samsung’s naming patterns and previous leaks, this device is identified as the international version of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The certification documentation clearly states that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, model number SM8750, which matches earlier rumors about the device’s silicon.

In addition to confirming the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the FCC filing also reveals that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will support 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-Wide Band (UWB), wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. These features align with expectations for a flagship foldable and support earlier spec leaks.

While the FCC listing doesn’t specify the display or camera details, previous reports have painted a fairly detailed picture of the expected specs:

  • Main display: 8.2-inch foldable AMOLED, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Cover display: 6.5-inch AMOLED, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Rear cameras: 200 MP main camera + 12 MP ultra-wide + 10 MP 3x telephoto
  • Front cameras: 10 MP selfie camera (cover screen) + 4 MP under-display camera (foldable screen)
  • Battery: 4,400 mAh with wireless charging and power sharing
  • Software: Android 16 with One UI 8.0

As for the design, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to take cues from the limited-edition Fold Special Edition, resulting in a slimmer, lighter body with a wider cover screen that should improve usability when the device is folded shut.

Another key feature that has generated buzz is the S Pen support. Initially, there were doubts about whether the stylus would be included, but it now seems certain that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will offer S Pen functionality, possibly with an updated version of the stylus.

With FCC certification being one of the final steps before a product launch, the official unveiling of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to happen at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event next month. The device is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the new Galaxy Watch 8 series, all of which will run Samsung’s One UI 8 software.
