SHADOW has officially unveiled its new cloud gaming tier, Neo, replacing the aging ‘Boost’ plan with a high-powered upgrade designed for both gamers and professionals.

At the same price of $37.99/month (taxes excluded), Neo delivers dramatically improved performance, boasting up to 150% better results in games and up to 200% gains in productivity tasks.

The upgraded specs speak for themselves:

  • CPU: AMD EPYC – 8 vCores @ 3.25-3.8GHz
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 equivalent (Server-grade RTX 2000 ADA 16GB)
  • RAM: 16GB DDR5
  • Network: 1Gb/s fiber
  • OS: Windows 10/11

All existing Boost subscribers have already been transitioned to Neo at no extra cost. SHADOW’s CEO, Olivier Abecassis, described Neo as “our most versatile cloud PC yet,” highlighting its ability to run demanding games in 2K with RTX and DLSS, handle complex 3D modeling, and support productivity from anywhere, instantly.

Neo supports DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.3, DLSS, FSR, and even Frame Generation – a significant leap for those wanting high-fidelity gaming on the go. But this leap raises questions about SHADOW’s more expensive $50 Power tier. With its older RTX 3070 Ti GPU that lacks DLSS Frame Generation and only marginally better CPU specs, Power now looks outdated. Unless SHADOW updates Power soon, Neo may become the new sweet spot for most users.

Sure, $37.99 may seem steep when compared to GeForce NOW’s $20/month RTX 4080 offering. However, SHADOW offers something its competitors don’t – a full Windows PC in the cloud. That means freedom to install any app, use mods, or even run development environments. GeForce NOW and Boosteroid still lock you into a limited game streaming experience. SHADOW gives you the full desktop.

Longtime users will appreciate how far the hardware has come. Older SHADOW instances used outdated Intel Xeons and GTX 1080-class cards, which often left users bottlenecked – especially in CPU-intensive games. The leap to modern EPYC processors and ADA-based GPUs marks a much-needed evolution.

With Neo, SHADOW isn’t just chasing specs – it’s delivering flexibility and power to users who want more than just a gaming box.
