The highly anticipated ROG Xbox Ally is reportedly set to launch in late October, but there’s still uncertainty surrounding its price. According to recent reports, Microsoft has yet to finalize the pricing due to the ongoing economic challenges and tariffs on products from countries like China and Taiwan, where ASUS manufactures its devices.
Despite initial speculation, the prices of $499 for the base model and $799 for the premium version may not reflect the final numbers.
The ROG Xbox Ally was first teased during this year’s Xbox Games Showcase, alongside its more powerful counterpart, the ROG Xbox Ally X. Both handhelds are expected to deliver solid performance, with the base model featuring an AMD Ryzen Z2A processor for a balance of power and battery efficiency. Meanwhile, the ROG Xbox Ally X will boast the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor, offering enhanced visuals and higher frame rates. However, despite rumors, neither model will feature an OLED screen. Instead, ASUS has opted for an LCD panel, balancing the need for VRR support, power consumption, and costs.
Though Microsoft has yet to commit to an official price, the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds are still on track to launch by the end of the year. The current speculation points to a late October release, but we’ll need to wait for official confirmation from both Microsoft and ASUS.
