Alien Ant Farm has expressed disappointment after being left off the highly anticipated Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remake soundtrack, despite their track ‘Wish’ featuring in the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 game. The band’s social media response to the soundtrack reveal, a sad face emoji, caught the attention of fans and media alike. In a recent interview with BBC News, guitarist Terry Corso shared his feelings about the exclusion, saying, ‘Is it a bummer that we weren’t invited? Absolutely. We understand that they’re trying to bring some new stuff onto these releases, and if you’ve gotta make cuts, you’ve gotta make cuts.

I don’t know why it had to be us, I feel like our song was really good on there and it did really well.’

Lead vocalist Dryden Mitchell also weighed in on the decision, noting, ‘I kind of get it, that skating feels a little more punk [and] we’re not a punk band, but I think that’s what makes a cool soundtrack, is a collection, being different.’

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remake is a mix of nostalgia and discovery. While some fan favorites like Motörhead’s ‘Ace of Spades’ make a return, many tracks from the original games have been swapped for new selections. Fans have had mixed reactions, with some celebrating the return of tracks by CKY and Iron Maiden, while others mourn the loss of bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Zebrahead.

Tony Hawk himself took to Instagram to explain his choices for the soundtrack. ‘It was my choice to pick some different songs by the same artists featured in THPS3+4 OST,’ he wrote. ‘I’m hoping that discovery is half the fun, and a big reason that these soundtracks resonated in the first place. So listen and enjoy the ride.’

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remake is set for release on July 11 for multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. Fans can look forward to both familiar skaters and new faces, including Michaelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
