The Honor Magic V5 is generating quite the buzz ahead of its official launch on July 2, as enthusiasts get a sneak peek through unboxing videos.
The latest unboxing clip from Techtacle showcases the phone’s design, dimensions, and what’s inside the box, adding to the excitement surrounding this foldable flagship.
The unboxing reveals that the Magic V5 comes equipped with a 66W charger, a USB A-to-C cable, and a protective case. The case fits snugly over the back and hinge but leaves the cover display uncovered. A nifty camera ring also doubles as a kickstand, adding an extra layer of functionality. While the phone itself measures 8.8mm when folded and 4.1mm when unfolded, the camera island stands out, though it’s not as pronounced as the one on the Magic V3.
Weighing in officially at 217g, the Magic V5 actually tips the scale at 224g in the video, likely due to a pre-applied screen protector adding a few extra grams. The case itself weighs 29g, bringing the total weight to 253g.
Design-wise, the Magic V5 comes in a stunning red, gold, and black color scheme. The hinge cover features a gold-painted 3D texture, while the back is adorned with red faux leather and gold accents around the camera area. The hinge is spring-loaded, allowing the device to snap open to 70° or 90°, perfect for using the phone in a half-open state.
As for its specs, the Magic V5 is expected to pack a Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version processor and a massive 6,100mAh battery. Its triple 50MP camera setup (with rumors of a 64MP telephoto module) should deliver impressive photo quality. The cover display measures 6.45” with a curved design, while the inner display is a sizable 8”. The device is also rumored to carry an IP68/IP69 rating, making it resistant to dust and water. However, most of these specs remain unconfirmed until the official reveal on July 2.
