GIGABYTE has just unveiled its new low-profile GeForce RTX 5050 OC graphics card, designed for users looking for power in a compact form. This new GPU features a triple-fan cooling solution that ensures efficient heat dissipation, all within a small package that fits into ITX cases.
NVIDIA launched the GeForce RTX 5050 recently, and while the desktop version won’t hit retail until next month, GIGABYTE has already showcased their custom design, pushing the limits of cooling in a small form factor.
The RTX 5050 OC Low Profile 8G comes with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 20 Gbps and uses a PCIe 5.0 interface. The card is a dual-slot design, measuring 182mm x 69mm x 36mm, making it ideal for cramped builds. Even though it has a triple-fan system-an upgrade over the RTX 3050 Low Profile-its size remains compact.
Though the boost clock details have not been disclosed, being an OC (overclocked) edition, we expect it to exceed the 2.57 GHz boost clock of the standard model
. With a power requirement of 130W, the RTX 5050 maintains the same TDP as the reference edition, so users will need a 550W PSU, as recommended by NVIDIA.
In terms of cooling, GIGABYTE’s RTX 5050 OC Low Profile is equipped with a custom heatsink and server-grade thermal gel that contacts the GPU chip directly.
Copper heat pipes link the aluminum heatsink, providing fast heat dissipation across the entire PCB. This compact cooling solution ensures optimal temperature management despite the small size of the card.
For connectivity, the GPU offers dual HDMI 2.1b ports and DisplayPort 1.4a and 2.1b outputs, allowing for versatile setup options. Expected to retail for $249, the RTX 5050 OC Low Profile is set to launch in late July, giving users an affordable yet powerful option for smaller builds and low-power setups.
