Honor is building anticipation ahead of its July 2 event with a new teaser video for the upcoming MagicPad 3, a premium 13.3-inch tablet boasting impressive hardware and an entertainment-first approach.
The star of the show is a 13.3-inch LCD panel featuring a crisp 3.2K resolution and a smooth 165Hz refresh rate, designed to please gamers and content consumers alike.
The tablet supports stylus input and packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset alongside a massive 12,450mAh battery, promising both power and endurance. One highlight is the IMAX Enhanced certification – a result of Honor’s partnership with IMAX – promising a cinematic viewing experience. The teaser also shows off a detachable keyboard cover and reveals three available color options.
However, not all fans are thrilled. The move from AMOLED to LCD raised eyebrows among those who valued the deep blacks and superior contrast of AMOLED panels, particularly for reading and multimedia. The MagicPad 3 might cater more to gamers and users chasing performance, thanks to its high refresh rate and cutting-edge processor, than to creatives or professionals who depend on industry-standard software and precision displays.
There are also concerns about software: while Android has seen growth in creative tools like Krita and Figma, it still lags behind the iPad in offering a robust, tablet-optimized suite of professional apps.
Alongside the MagicPad 3, Honor is expected to unveil the Magic V5 foldable, aiming for the “world’s thinnest horizontal foldable” title, the MagicBook Art 14 2025 laptop, and possibly new versions of the Honor Watch 5 Ultra and EarBuds Open.
In a market dominated by iPads and Samsung’s Galaxy Tabs, Honor’s no-notch, AI-powered tablet with slim bezels is carving out its own identity – even if it’s not without compromises.
