Redmi K80 Ultra and Redmi K Pad: Xiaomi’s Latest Gaming and Tablet Devices

Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi have unveiled a new lineup of devices, including the highly anticipated Redmi K80 Ultra and the brand’s first compact tablet, the Redmi K Pad, during their launch event in China.

Redmi K80 Ultra: A Gaming Powerhouse

The Redmi K80 Ultra takes center stage as a flagship device designed for gaming enthusiasts. Powered by the Dimensity 9400+ chipset, it boasts a massive 7,410mAh battery, capable of 100W fast charging. The phone comes with a 6.83-inch OLED display offering a 1280p+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, ensuring a vibrant and smooth viewing experience. A 20MP front-facing camera is nestled within the display for crisp selfies.

The K80 Ultra is also equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and the Xiaomi HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. It’s built to handle demanding tasks with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The back houses a 50MP main camera with an OV Light Fusion 800 sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens. For audio, the K80 Ultra introduces AAC 1115 coaxial stereo speakers with an X-axis linear vibration motor for immersive sound quality.

For durability, it is IP68-rated for water and dust resistance. The K80 Ultra comes in four color variants: Sandstone Gray, Moon Rock White, Spruce Green, and Ice Front Blue. The price starts at CNY 2,599 (~$362) for the 12GB/256GB model and goes up to CNY 3,799 (~$530) for the 16GB/1TB version.

Redmi K Pad: Compact Yet Powerful

The Redmi K Pad is Redmi’s first foray into the compact tablet market. Featuring an 8.8-inch IPS LCD with a 3,008 x 1,880px resolution, it offers a smooth 165Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Despite its slim 6.46mm profile and weighing just 336g, it packs a punch with the same Dimensity 9400+ chipset found in the K80 Ultra, as well as up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The K Pad also includes an 8MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera. It’s designed with gaming in mind, featuring a 12,050mm² vapor chamber to keep things cool during long gaming sessions. A unique feature is the dual USB-C ports, allowing users to charge while gaming, making it more versatile. The 7,500mAh battery supports 67W fast charging. The K Pad comes in Deep Black, Spruce Green, and Smoky Purple colors. It is priced at CNY 2,799 (~$390) for the 12GB/256GB version and CNY 4,199 (~$585) for the top-end 16GB/1TB model.

Conclusion

Both the Redmi K80 Ultra and Redmi K Pad deliver impressive specs for their respective categories, offering strong performance for gaming and multitasking. While the K80 Ultra stands out with its flagship-level features, the K Pad offers a great option for those looking for a portable yet powerful tablet.
