While Apple unveiled a host of productivity-boosting features at WWDC 25, two impressive iOS 26 updates flew under the radar – but they’re still expected to launch soon, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
The first is live translation via AirPods.
Imagine popping in your AirPods and instantly hearing translations of foreign languages in real-time. Ideal for travel or multicultural convos, this feature rivals what Google’s Pixel Buds already offer. Apple highlighted other translation tools during the keynote, but this specific AirPods integration was left out – perhaps to avoid overpromising. Still, Gurman previously mentioned it back in March, and he reaffirms it’s still on the roadmap for later this year.
The second quiet addition involves Wi-Fi credential syncing across Apple devices. Currently, Apple allows password sharing among your own devices using the same iCloud account – if they’re nearby
. With iOS 26, you’ll be able to log into public networks like those at hotels or gyms and have that login info automatically available on all your Apple devices. Seamless and time-saving.
Apple might’ve skipped these features on stage due to past issues with premature announcements that led to delays. By holding back, they’re likely aiming for a smoother rollout this year.
Even though these updates aren’t flashy, they could make daily device use significantly more convenient. Whether it’s avoiding language barriers or skipping repetitive Wi-Fi logins, these subtle upgrades enhance the Apple ecosystem’s usability.
Both features are expected to land with iOS 26 or shortly after via updates. Stay tuned – they’re the kind of smart, behind-the-scenes tools that make a real difference.
