CAPCOM’s strategic focus on the PC market is clearly paying off, with the publisher reporting a significant surge in Steam revenue. The company recently revealed that its Steam revenue for the fiscal year spanning from April 2024 to March 2025 increased by a remarkable 61.1%, bringing in roughly $366 million USD. This represents 31% of CAPCOM’s total revenue, a substantial increase from the previous year, highlighting the company’s growing dominance in the digital space.

In fact, when looking at CAPCOM’s digital entertainment business, Steam now accounts for 42.1% of the revenue, a striking figure that underscores the importance of the PC platform in CAPCOM’s overall strategy.

While CAPCOM continues to enjoy success on the PC, PlayStation revenue has seen a notable decline. For the fiscal year ending in March 2025, PlayStation sales contributed less than 10% of the company’s total revenue. This shift comes as no surprise, considering CAPCOM’s increased efforts to push its titles on PC. A prime example of this strategy is the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, which saw its first simultaneous multiplatform launch earlier this year. Over half of the game’s total sales during its launch window were on Steam, a clear indicator of PC’s growing prominence for the publisher. Other major releases like Street Fighter 6 also continue to perform exceptionally well on PC, further solidifying CAPCOM’s commitment to the platform.

Looking ahead, CAPCOM’s focus on the PC market seems to be a trend that’s here to stay. As more games hit PC with no console exclusivity deals holding them back, PC players are likely to see an even more extensive catalog of titles from CAPCOM. This could mean fewer waiting periods for exclusives and a greater variety of games to enjoy right from the get-go.
