ASUS has shaken up the OLED gaming monitor market with the release of its most affordable ROG OLED display yet-the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS. Officially launched in China for ¥3,999 (~$558), this sleek 27-inch monitor pushes the envelope with a stunning 280Hz refresh rate at 1440p resolution, made possible by cutting-edge QD-OLED technology.

Priced significantly lower than ASUS’s other OLED models, the XG27ACDMS also drops to just ¥3,400 (~$474) in certain regions with subsidies, making it the cheapest 2K OLED gaming monitor on the market.

That’s a big deal, considering its older sibling, the XG27AQDMG, still retails around $650 and tops out at 240Hz.

Despite its aggressive pricing, ASUS hasn’t cut corners. The monitor boasts True 10-bit color depth, a 99% DCI-P3 color gamut, 0.03ms response time, and Delta E<2 color accuracy. And thanks to the new NEO Proximity Sensor, it even goes into a power-saving mode when you’re away to reduce image burn-in risks-something OLED skeptics will appreciate. To back that up, ASUS includes a 3-year warranty with burn-in coverage.

Design-wise, the XG27ACDMS maintains a similar aesthetic to its predecessor but now includes a USB-C port with DP Alt Mode, improving connectivity for modern setups. Still, the 27-inch size may be a sticking point for some users accustomed to larger panels.

There’s no global launch date yet, but gamers looking for premium OLED performance without breaking the bank should keep an eye out-this could be a game-changer for mid-range setups.
