Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 has just surfaced in a leaked hands-on video, and it’s turning heads with a striking new design. Shared initially on X by @andrei_eclynoh and later reposted on YouTube by Talks Daily Tech, the footage shows what appears to be a functioning unit – not just a dummy model.
The Flip 7’s most noticeable upgrade is its outer display.
Ditching the Flip 6’s folder-style screen, the new version boasts a wraparound 4.1-inch cover screen that curves around the cameras. This major visual shift makes it not only more futuristic but also more functional, allowing for more widgets and enhanced date/time display options.
On the inside, the Flip 7 is expected to stretch to 6.9 inches, up from 6.7 inches, offering more screen real estate while still maintaining a sleek feel. Samsung has also managed to slim the device down. When folded, it’s rumored to measure just 13.7 mm, compared to 14.9 mm on the Flip 6. When unfolded, it’s only 6.5 mm thick.
Even though it’s slimmer, the Flip 7 is reportedly a touch heavier at 188 grams – just 1 gram more than its predecessor. That weight increase is likely due to a larger battery, which now reaches 4,300mAh (a solid bump from the Flip 6’s 4,000mAh).
Another small but important upgrade: the display crease appears less visible, offering a cleaner look and feel. While creases never really disappear entirely on foldables, Samsung seems to have reduced it enough to make a difference.
Under the hood, you’ll find Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite” chip, but otherwise, most specs remain similar to the Flip 6. Still, that bigger cover display, improved ergonomics, and larger battery could make this the foldable to beat in 2025.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be officially unveiled on July 9, with retail availability starting July 25. Early reservations score a $50 Samsung Credit and possible savings of up to $1,150 – plus a shot at a $5,000 sweepstakes prize. If you’ve been holding out on foldables, this might be the one to grab.
