Recent hands-on video footage has sparked speculation about a surprising change in Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 camera setup. Just days before the official reveal of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and the Galaxy Watch 8 series, a short 19-second video surfaced online, shared by the well-known tipster @UniverseIce. 
This clip, however, has led to some confusion about its authenticity.
The video in question has raised doubts about the foldable device’s camera design. A previous report suggested that Samsung had abandoned the Under-Display Camera (UDC) from the Galaxy Z Fold 6 due to unsatisfactory photo quality. Instead, the expectation was for the return of the punch-hole camera on the internal display. However, the hands-on video does not show any visible punch-hole, which has left many wondering if the earlier rumors were inaccurate.
There are a few possible explanations for this:
- The earlier rumors about the removal of the UDC were incorrect.
- The punch-hole camera simply isn’t visible in the video.
- The device shown in the video is the Galaxy Z Fold 6, not the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Another interesting point to consider is the tweet accompanying the video, which states, “Goodbye Fold6, hello Fold7.” This could simply be a playful send-off from the leaker, hinting at the Fold 6’s departure. But if that’s the case, why showcase the device’s responsiveness and quick app launch speeds? We may not have definitive answers until Samsung’s official announcement on Wednesday.
The video showcases the smooth performance of the device, which, if it’s indeed the Galaxy Z Fold 7, is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, the same processor used in the Galaxy S25 series. Rumored display specifications include an 8.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED internal screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1856 and a 120Hz refresh rate. The 6.5-inch external display will feature a 2376 x 968 resolution, also with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Fold 7 is believed to include 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, while its rear-camera setup might consist of a 200 MP main sensor, a 12 MP Telephoto camera, and a 10 MP Telephoto camera. Additionally, the phone is expected to house a 4400mAh battery.
