The OnePlus Nord series has become an important player in the brand’s lineup, and now, with the release of the Nord 5 and Nord CE5, it’s entering its fifth generation.
The new devices bring significant upgrades, with the Nord 5 boasting a more powerful chipset, a larger display, and improved cameras, while the Nord CE5 stands out for offering an incredible 7,100mAh battery.
OnePlus Nord 5:
The Nord 5 features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a stunning 144Hz refresh rate, offering peak brightness of 1,800 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. A 50MP selfie camera (Samsung JN5 sensor) is housed within the display. The device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, supported by 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide camera. OnePlus has implemented its RAW HDR and Real Tone exposure algorithms, enhancing the device’s image processing capabilities. The Nord 5 also runs OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15, featuring the OnePlus AI suite and Open Canvas multitasking interface, which were first seen on the OnePlus Open.
Powering the device is a 6,800mAh battery, supporting 80W wired charging and reverse charging at up to 5W speeds. Available in Marble Sands, Dry Ice, and Phantom Grey, the Nord 5 is priced starting at €449/£399/INR 31,999 for the 8/256GB version, going up to €499/£449/INR 37,999 for the 12/512GB variant.
OnePlus Nord CE5:
The Nord CE5 opts for a slightly smaller 6.77-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ 120Hz and 1,430 nits peak brightness. The 16MP selfie camera (IMX480 sensor) provides solid image quality for selfies. It’s powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 chipset with 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB/256GB of expandable storage.
The highlight of the CE5 is its 7,100mAh battery, a massive capacity for a phone, enabling impressive battery life with over 27 hours of YouTube playback, 18+ hours of Instagram use, and more than 9 hours of gaming. The device also supports 80W SuperVOOC charging and bypass charging.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide camera. Like the Nord 5, the Nord CE5 also benefits from OnePlus’ RAW HDR and Real Tone exposure algorithms. The Nord CE5 comes in Black Infinity, Marble Mist, and Nexus Blue and is priced at €299/£249/INR 24,999 for the 8/128GB variant, going up to €349/£299/INR 28,999 for the 8/256GB model.
