Tecno is gearing up to unveil its next big innovation, the Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept, which is set to be announced in mid-July. This follows the debut of their Phantom Ultimate 2, which made waves nearly a year ago as Tecno’s first tri-fold concept. 
After teasing it at MWC 2025, it looks like the G Fold is ready to make its formal debut.
At first glance, the G Fold shares similarities with Samsung’s anticipated tri-fold design, adopting an inward-folding form. This design keeps the main display fully protected when folded, reducing the risk of accidental damage, which is a huge plus for durability. However, it’s important to note that the Phantom Ultimate G Fold remains a concept for now and is not yet ready for mass production.
One of the standout features of the G Fold is its cover screen located on the leftmost part, offering quick access to notifications and essential functions. The rear boasts a triple camera setup, ready to capture stunning shots on the go. When unfolded, the device promises a perfectly flat display with no visible crease, thanks to Tecno’s advancements in flexible display technology and a smaller, innovative hinge design that allows for smooth transitions. The hinge mechanism is versatile, enabling multi-angle hovering and various formations, adding to the device’s flexibility and practicality.
Tecno also claims that the G Fold will be the thinnest tri-fold phone to date, even beating out Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate, which measures a mere 3.6mm when fully opened. According to a recent leak by tipster Ice Universe, we now have additional images showing the device in both its folded and unfolded forms, providing a closer look at the expansive main display and the impressive triple camera setup.
The race for the ultimate tri-foldable phone is heating up, and Tecno’s Phantom Ultimate G Fold is poised to be a strong contender.
