Apple has just unveiled the iPhone 16e, taking over the SE line, and already there’s buzz about its successor, the iPhone 17e. While the SE models typically had longer gaps between releases, the rebranding hints at a new annual release cycle for Apple’s more affordable iPhone. 
And it looks like the rumors are true-sources from Korea are confirming that the iPhone 17e will hit the market next spring.
Notably, the iPhone 17e is expected to feature the same display panel as its predecessor. It seems that the most significant changes will be under the hood, although we’re still waiting for further details on potential upgrades. Apple’s manufacturing partners, including BOE, Samsung Display, and LG Display, are all rumored to provide panels for the new device, much like they did for the iPhone 16e. BOE is said to have the largest share of the panel supply, though all three companies will likely continue their roles for the upcoming model.
In terms of sales, Apple has big expectations for the iPhone 16e, projecting around 20 million units sold this year, aligning with the performance of previous SE models. As we await the release of the iPhone 17e, it’s clear that Apple’s strategy is working to provide affordable options with familiar design choices while steadily keeping the iPhone lineup fresh.
