While the global buzz surrounding the Pura 80 launch has been undeniable, the new MatePad 11.5’s release brings its own exciting features.

The display is a standout upgrade. The 11.5” IPS LCD now sports a 2,450 x 1,600px resolution, offering clearer visuals with a 256ppi pixel density and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The new model also delivers smoother performance with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits, ensuring vibrant colors and sharp images even in bright environments, thanks to DC dimming technology.

The enhanced PaperMatte technology, an optional feature, introduces nano-etching to drastically reduce reflections by 60% and light interference by 99%. A new circular polarization filter enhances visibility, making it easier to view the screen even while wearing sunglasses

. This makes it perfect for those who frequently use their tablets outdoors or in bright settings.

Huawei has also improved the tablet’s writing capabilities, integrating the third-generation M-Pencil, which is supported by AI to refine handwriting, organize notes, and highlight key points for productivity. Users can also choose to sketch freely with or without the AI’s assistance.

In terms of design, the MatePad 11.5 (2025) is now slimmer and more durable. With a thickness of just 6.1mm (down from 6.9mm) and a slightly heavier weight of 515g (up from 499g), the tablet still feels comfortable to hold. Huawei claims it is 30% more durable than its predecessor, making it a more robust choice for everyday use.

One of the key updates is the larger 10,100mAh battery, offering an impressive 14 hours of continuous streaming on a single charge-double the capacity of the 2023 model’s 7,700mAh battery. Additionally, the new 40W SuperCharge technology ensures the tablet can be recharged quickly, saving you time.

Under the hood, the MatePad 11.5 (2025) ditches the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 for the new Kirin 8020 chipset. This change, along with a 67% larger graphite sheet for better heat dissipation, promises improved performance and cooling. The tablet offers 8GB of RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256GB.

Running on HarmonyOS 4.3, the MatePad 11.5 offers improved multitasking with the Floating Window feature. The SuperHub feature allows for seamless file transfers between the tablet, phone, and computer with a single click. The new antennas in the tablet promise a 30% improvement in Wi-Fi throughput, making it a reliable choice for media streaming and browsing.

On the audio front, four speakers provide an immersive sound experience, ensuring that your media sounds as good as it looks. Connectivity options include a USB-C 2.0 port, Wi-Fi 6 (ax), and Bluetooth 5.2 (LDAC HD) for high-quality wireless audio.

When it comes to photography, the MatePad 11.5 (2025) includes a 13MP rear camera with an f/1.8 autofocus lens, as well as an 8MP front camera for video calls. Both cameras are equipped to handle everyday photography needs.

The tablet is available in two color options: Violet and Space Gray. The base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at €290, while the PaperMatte Edition with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, including the optional keyboard cover, is available for €430.
