The DDR5 overclocking race just hit a new milestone, with the latest record-breaking performance achieved by overclocker bl4ckdot. On the Z890 platform, bl4ckdot pushed the G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 memory to a stunning 12,872 MT/s, dethroning saltycroissant’s previous record of 12,843 MT/s. This new record was set on the Intel Z890 platform with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor and the ROG Maximus Z890 Apex motherboard. The overclocking feat was made possible using liquid nitrogen cooling on the memory, and the result was validated on the CPU-Z validator, confirming the impressive speed and system setup.
While DDR5 overclocking records are typically short-lived, this one might be a rare exception. The previous record held by saltycroissant lasted for over a month, but now bl4ckdot has taken the lead, with his impressive 6431.1 MHz memory frequency. G.Skill shared the result proudly on their social media, highlighting the Trident Z5 DDR5 memory, which uses the high-performance SK Hynix DDR5 ICs. At the moment, bl4ckdot and saltycroissant remain the only overclockers to surpass the 6,400 MHz mark with DDR5, with Seby and Hicookie close behind.
