Apple fans were buzzing over the leaked colors for the iPhone 17 Pro, with rumors suggesting vibrant new hues for the high-end model. However, a recent report has revealed a twist: one of these colors has been dropped from the Pro lineup and will instead be featured on the iPhone 17 Air. The iPhone 17 Pro was expected to come in shades like Black, Gray, Silver, Dark Blue, and Orange. While the orange color is likely to stick around for the Pro, the much-anticipated ‘Sky Blue’ option has been scrapped. Instead, the iPhone 17 Air, which is set to replace the iPhone 17 Plus, will get this color.
Evidence supporting this claim includes an insider’s image showing the camera rings on the Air model, where a light blue ring can be spotted. Interestingly, green and purple camera rings are also seen in the picture.
While it’s unfortunate the iPhone 17 Pro won’t be getting Sky Blue, the Air might benefit from it. With its slim, horizontal camera setup, the Air could look like the Pixel 8 Pro, especially in the light blue color. But whether this new color will be enough to sell the Air remains to be seen. After all, Apple replaced the iPhone Mini with the Plus due to poor sales, and now it’s doing the same to the Plus with the Air. That said, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge, despite its slimmer design, has faced similar challenges, especially when it comes to battery life. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to ship with a tiny 2,800 mAh battery, which might not be enough for many users, especially considering that even the Galaxy S25 Edge packs a 3,900 mAh battery. However, if you’re someone who cares more about color than battery, the new rumored purple iPhone 17 might catch your eye.
