Honor is set to launch its new X70 smartphone on July 15, and the excitement is building as the brand unveils more teasers just hours before the official reveal. The latest marketing stunt has raised some eyebrows by comparing the unannounced phone to heavy machinery and powerful water jets, sparking curiosity about its durability. In a dramatic video, the Honor X70 is put through an extreme challenge against a Sany SY205C-S excavator. The phone is strapped to the bucket’s teeth as the excavator goes to work. 
To no surprise, after enduring dirt, digging, and rough handling, the phone survives with no visible damage.
The second part of the video shows the excavator’s bucket tossing the phone into the air, and once it lands, it remains perfectly fine. Finally, the phone is crushed by the bucket-yet again, it comes out unscathed. But the real test comes in the next segment: a direct blast from a fire hose. Thanks to its impressive IP69 and IP69K water resistance ratings, the phone holds up without any issues, while other objects fail to withstand the powerful water pressure.
The Honor X70 isn’t just about tough tests; it’s packed with impressive specs, too. The smartphone boasts a massive 8,300 mAh battery, the largest for a mainstream phone, all while maintaining a slim profile of under 8mm thickness and a weight of less than 200g. It features a 6.79-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1200×2640, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, running on MagicOS 9 out of the box. It’s certainly shaping up to be a powerhouse in both durability and performance.
