Saber Interactive, the studio behind titles like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake and Jurassic Park Survival, is stirring up excitement with a new teaser suggesting the upcoming reveal of a new horror game. Fans are speculating that it could be a Hellraiser-based game, fueled by a cryptic video posted by the studio earlier this week.
The teaser, which includes old-school VHS footage, leads to a website that reveals only a date and time for the big reveal: Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST.
On top of that, Saber posted a video to YouTube that has sparked further speculation. Viewers noticed an eerie soundscape that some believe could hint at a Hellraiser connection, with Reddit users and commenters zeroing in on the possibilities. As if that wasn’t enough, today the studio shared another video featuring horror influencers watching what seems to be the same teaser. Their reactions were filled with shock and awe, with one influencer even asking, ‘Can you even put stuff like that in a video game?’ The game appears to be disturbingly gore-filled, aligning with the bloody and terrifying nature of the Hellraiser series.
Could this be a revival of the Hellraiser franchise in the form of a video game? It’s possible. In 2021, Pinhead, the iconic antagonist of the franchise, was added to Dead by Daylight but was removed from the game earlier this year without any clear reason. Fans are wondering if this was a preemptive move to make room for a new Hellraiser game. There was a Hellraiser game in development back in 1990 for the NES, which was set to release in 1991 but never saw the light of day.
Whether or not this new game is indeed based on the Hellraiser series remains to be seen, but the build-up is certainly making it hard to ignore the possibility. Only time will tell what Saber Interactive has in store for us come Tuesday’s reveal.
