Sloclap has rolled out the first major update for its football game, Rematch, just over a month after its launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Sloclap Rolls Out First Major Patch for Rematch: Button Mapping and Hit Detection Fixes
The game recently crossed an exciting milestone-5 million unique players, a combination of both direct buyers and Xbox Game Pass users.

In a blog post earlier this week, Sloclap thanked players for their feedback over the past month, addressing several key issues. The update brings some long-awaited improvements, including a feature to remap controller buttons. Although the initial button mapping is fairly basic, Sloclap has promised a more advanced version in the future, allowing players to create custom input combinations.

Another major fix in this patch is improved hit detection, which has been a persistent issue since launch. Whether it’s a goalkeeper mishandling the ball or players failing to react to tackles, hit detection problems have been widespread. Many players, myself included, believe this should have been the primary focus from day one. Fortunately, Sloclap is addressing it in this update, with several fixes aimed at improving the accuracy of hit detection, potentially paving the way for a better overall gameplay experience.

However, this patch still doesn’t resolve one of the most requested features: full crossplay support. Players will have to wait until September for that addition, as Sloclap continues working on it.
