Xiaomi’s Civi series in India was initially expected to continue with the launch of the Xiaomi 15 Civi, but new reports now claim that the device has been canceled.
Xiaomi 15 Civi Canceled: What Could Have Been
After introducing the Xiaomi 14 Civi last year, an upper-midrange smartphone featuring Leica branding and a camera-focused experience, Xiaomi fans hoped for an even more impressive follow-up. Unfortunately, it seems that sales of the 14 Civi didn’t live up to expectations, which could have played a role in the cancellation.

The Xiaomi 15 Civi was reportedly in active development before its cancellation. The device was slated to feature a 6.55-inch display with a 1.5K resolution, micro-curves on all four sides, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. Under the hood, it was to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, offering up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

On the camera front, the Xiaomi 15 Civi would have retained the Leica partnership with a quad-camera setup, including a 50MP primary lens, a 12MP ultrawide, a 50MP telephoto, and a 50MP selfie shooter. A large 6,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging was also expected to keep the device running throughout the day.

But despite these impressive specs, it seems the device will never make it to market. With the Xiaomi 14 Civi heavily discounted and other models like the Xiaomi 15T being launched instead, the company may have decided the 15 Civi was no longer needed. Some speculate that the phone might have been too similar to the Nothing Phone 3, making it redundant.
