The vivo V60 has been surrounded by speculation and rumors for weeks, and the latest report challenges previous leaks about its launch date and operating system. Earlier rumors suggested the device would debut in India on August 19, running OriginOS – a system currently exclusive to China.
However, a new report refutes this, stating that the vivo V60 will be launched on August 12 in India, but it will feature Funtouch OS based on Android 16 instead of OriginOS.
Additionally, the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC and will come equipped with UFS 2.2 storage. While the exact storage capacity remains unclear, we can expect a decent amount of space for apps and media. The device will sport a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and an impressive peak brightness of 1,300 nits, promising a vibrant viewing experience.
In terms of photography, the vivo V60 will boast a quad-camera setup. The front will feature a 50MP selfie camera, while the rear will house a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. This setup ensures that users can capture everything from wide landscapes to detailed close-ups with ease.
Under the hood, the vivo V60 will be powered by a hefty 6,500mAh battery and support 90W fast charging for a quick top-up when you’re on the go. The device will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner for added security, as well as stereo speakers for immersive sound. Additionally, it’s rumored to have IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, adding to its durability.
The expected price range for the vivo V60 is between INR 37,000 ($430/€365) and INR 40,000 ($465/€395), making it a competitive offering in the mid-range segment. This device is also believed to be a variant of the vivo S30, which was launched earlier in China.
