Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch update is now rolling out to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Following in the footsteps of the new Galaxy Watch8 series, which introduced this version of Samsung’s custom interface, the One UI 8 Watch brings exciting updates to Galaxy Watch Ultra owners.

The update features enhancements that focus on health and training, as well as more user-friendly UI refinements, offering a better glance at important data on the watch’s compact display.

One of the standout features is the Multi-Info Tiles. These customizable tiles let users select the data they find most important – from weather updates to health metrics – making it easier than ever to track key information quickly. The Now Bar, familiar to Galaxy phone users, adds even more functionality with quick access to tools like camera and media controllers, stopwatch, and timer. These can all be personalized through the companion app.

When it comes to health tracking, the update introduces two new features: Vascular Load and Antioxidant Index. Vascular Load measures the stress on your circulatory system during sleep, while the Antioxidant Index calculates the carotenoids (antioxidants) stored in your skin. These new metrics add a deeper layer of health insight, making the Watch Ultra even more capable of tracking your wellbeing.

On top of this, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is now equipped with a new Running Coach feature. This tool helps users develop a personalized running plan based on specific goals, such as running a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or full marathon. To get started, the coach assesses your running performance through a 12-minute test.

Additionally, the Galaxy Watch Ultra was refreshed during the Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this month, introducing a sleek new Titanium Blue color and doubling the storage capacity to 64GB. While it’s not a full redesign (it’s not an “Ultra 2”), this updated version still offers a solid upgrade over the original model launched in 2024. If you’re waiting for One UI 8 Watch, don’t worry – the update will be available for older models too, with beta builds already spotted for the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro.
