OnePlus and Oppo are reportedly preparing to shake up the compact tablet market with sleek new Android slates powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset-also tipped to be branded as the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. 
According to well-known Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, these devices are set to feature a compact 8.8-inch display and launch sometime in early 2026.
The OnePlus variant is expected to debut alongside the OnePlus 15T, which will likely succeed the OnePlus 13T and may offer a 6.3-inch screen
. If the schedule sticks, this new tablet could be among the very first Android devices to showcase Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship chip.
This shift toward a smaller screen marks a strategic move for both brands, contrasting with their previous offerings like the 11.6-inch OnePlus Pad and Oppo Pad 2. It suggests a fresh focus on the premium compact category-potentially going head-to-head with the iPad mini and Lenovo’s powerhouse Tab Extreme line.
Oppo and OnePlus, known for releasing nearly identical devices with subtle tweaks, appear to be continuing this approach. Their earlier tablets, both launched in 2023 with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 chip, were nearly indistinguishable in terms of hardware.
While specs and pricing are still under wraps, the anticipated 2026 release will allow both companies to position these tablets as competitive alternatives to future entries in Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S11 lineup and Apple’s upcoming iPad mini refresh.
