Frostpunk 2 is officially coming to consoles, with 11 Bit Studios confirming a September 18, 2025 release date for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. 
The announcement, meant to be a big reveal, accidentally dropped early through a now-private trailer on YouTube-though fans were quick to reupload it across the web.
Console players can finally join the frigid dystopian struggle that PC players have enjoyed since its initial launch in September 2024. And good news for subscribers: Frostpunk 2 will be included in Xbox Game Pass on day one for console users, just like it was for PC.
The game isn’t done evolving either. Two more DLCs are expected to launch later this year, according to the game’s official roadmap, with a mysterious third expansion planned for 2026.
Frostpunk 2 expands on its predecessor’s core survival and city-building mechanics. Critics, like Wccftech’s Chris Wray, have praised its deeper political systems, faction dynamics, and new mechanics that force players to make tough ethical decisions while expanding settlements across an unforgiving wasteland.
If you’ve been holding out for the console version, your wait is nearly over-and it looks like it’ll be worth it.
