At Apple’s latest Worldwide Developers Conference, the company introduced some exciting updates for the AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and AirPods Pro 2. The highlight? A new feature that brings studio-quality audio recording to these iconic wireless earbuds. Whether you’re a podcaster, interviewer, singer, or content creator, this upgrade promises to elevate your recordings, even in noisy environments.

With Voice Isolation technology, Apple aims to ensure crisp, clear audio that stands out from background noise.

Alongside this, Apple has made promises to improve vocal texture and clarity during calls, including iPhone calls, FaceTime conversations, and calls through CallKit-enabled apps. The improvements aren’t just for audio recording, either – expect better audio on your regular voice calls too. When paired with an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, these features provide an enhanced listening and recording experience that extends across several apps like Voice Memos, Messages dictation, and video conferencing apps, including Webex.

But that’s not all. Apple has also introduced a Camera Remote feature for the AirPods, allowing you to take photos or record videos without touching your device. By simply pressing and holding the AirPods stem while using the Camera app or a compatible third-party camera app on your iPhone or iPad, you can start or stop recordings with ease – no hands required!

These new features will be available through the Apple Beta Software Program starting next month, and they will be included in the upcoming iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26 updates.
