AMC Drops Giant Galactus Popcorn Bucket for Fantastic Four: First Steps – and Fans Are Losing It
Marvel fans and collectors, brace yourselves: AMC Theatres just unveiled one of its boldest tie-ins yet – the massive 17-inch Galactus popcorn bucket for the upcoming MCU film The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like: you’ll be eating popcorn straight out of the Devourer of Worlds’ head.
This towering collector’s item, officially named the “Giant Galactus Popcorn Vessel,” is shaped like Galactus’ iconic helmeted head, complete with glowing blue eyes and that deep cosmic purple finish. The popcorn is served from an opening at the top, making this not only a quirky conversation starter but a functional snack container – albeit a very dramatic one. The vessel includes a large popcorn, which you’ll need, considering the size of this thing.
Also joining the snack squad is the H.E.R.B.I.E. Concessions Vessel, based on the robotic sidekick from the film. It’s a three-in-one snack holder with clever compartments built into the robot design – capable of carrying a large drink, popcorn, and candy all at once. Some fans are already saying this one might be even cooler than the Galactus bucket.
While AMC is clearly leaning into wild merch, they’re also stepping into more controversial territory: more pre-show ads. Starting July 1, AMC will introduce “platinum spot” commercials during the trailer block, in partnership with National CineMedia. While AMC admits they were originally hesitant, they cite competitors who’ve embraced it for years with “no direct impact” on attendance. Translation: expect more ads, but supposedly no fewer fans.
The popcorn bucket buzz comes as Marvel just dropped a new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, teasing the debut of baby Franklin Richards and finally delivering a fan-favorite line. There’s still no confirmed sign of Doctor Doom, but rumors are swirling that he could appear in a post-credits scene – a classic Marvel move.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps premieres in theaters on July 25, 2025. Whether you’re in it for the movie, the merch, or the mayhem, this film is already shaping up to be a spectacle – both on and off the screen.
