The log shows two 12-core and one 10-core SKUs, suggesting that AMD is preparing to unveil these chips soon.

While AMD teased the Gorgon Point series a few months ago, its official naming convention remains a mystery. According to a leak, the SKUs listed in the manifest are: 100-000001936-50 (Ryzen AI 9 HX 475 Pro?), 100-000001859-50 (Ryzen AI 9 HX 475), and 100-000001861-50 (Ryzen AI 9 HX 465)

. These processors are expected to use the FP8 socket, which differentiates them from the Medusa Point Zen 6 chips that will utilize a larger FP10 socket.

Gorgon Point APUs will retain the same core/thread configurations as Strix Point but will offer improved AI performance, with up to 55+ AI TOPS, compared to the Strix Point’s 50 AI NPU TOPS. The CPU cores will continue using the Zen 5 architecture, while the iGPU will feature RDNA 3.5. AMD is also expected to add more SKUs to the Gorgon series, including R9, R7, R5, and R3 chips, with core counts as low as four.

As AMD continues to refine its lineup, the Gorgon Point series could offer some compelling choices for consumers, though many are already questioning the practice of rebranding older products under new names.
