AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Beats GeForce RTX 5070 Ti After Latest Driver Update

The latest AMD drivers have delivered significant performance gains for the Radeon RX 9070 XT, leaving its competitor, the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, trailing behind.

According to Hardware Unboxed, the performance boost with AMD’s new Adrenalin Driver version 25.6.3 is impressive, especially compared to the earlier release which had throttled RDNA 4 GPUs.

The Radeon RX 9070 XT, which was previously outperformed by the RTX 5070 Ti in several popular titles, now shows substantial improvements. Games like Starfield, Delta Force, and CS2, where the 9070 XT struggled, now see it either matching or surpassing the RTX 5070 Ti’s performance

. In some titles, the RX 9070 XT is up to 14% faster, and in games like Spider-Man Remastered, the performance difference reaches an impressive 27%.

Overall, AMD’s latest driver update has resulted in a 9% performance improvement at 1440p and a 4% boost at 4K, helping the RX 9070 XT to pull ahead by 3% at 1440p and equal the 5070 Ti at 4K.

Despite the RX 9070 XT’s stellar performance, NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 Ti still holds an advantage in ray tracing. Still, at $599, the RX 9070 XT provides solid value, especially if it approaches its MSRP as prices for the RTX 5070 Ti continue to drop.

While the price difference between the two GPUs remains, the RX 9070 XT is an excellent choice for gamers seeking top-tier rasterization performance at a competitive price, even if ray tracing benchmarks still favor NVIDIA.
