Apple’s Big AI Push Just Got a Reality Check
Apple fans, take a breath – not all the shiny AI features teased for iOS are arriving anytime soon. While the company gears up for its WWDC 2025 Keynote, we now know that some of the most exciting AI-powered upgrades – including a more intelligent Siri – are officially postponed.

Remember that quirky ad with Bella Ramsey asking Siri to find a guy she met months ago? Yeah, Apple quietly shelved it. Why? Because the ultra-smart ‘Personal Siri’ that could scan your messages and emails to give contextual answers is now delayed until at least mid-to-late 2026.
Apple has reportedly postponed several planned AI features, including Siri’s ability to understand what’s on your screen and control apps more intuitively. These enhancements were originally part of a broader AI overhaul. The next-gen version of Siri, powered by large language models (LLM Siri), is also not expected until 2026 or even 2027. When (or if) it arrives, it’s expected to rival ChatGPT and Gemini in smarts – though it will still ask your permission before forwarding your questions to ChatGPT.
More delays? Yep. AI-enhanced versions of the Calendar and Health apps won’t make their debut at WWDC either. Instead, these updates have been pushed to iOS 27, set to land in 2026. Internally, iOS 27 is nicknamed “Buttercup,” while macOS 27 will go by “Honeycrisp” – yes, like the apple.
That said, all isn’t lost. The iOS 26 beta will be released immediately after Monday’s keynote. If you’re enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program, head to Settings > General > Software Update once the event wraps. Just a heads-up: early betas tend to be buggy, so back up your data beforehand.
Bottom line? Apple’s AI future is bright – but you’ll need to be patient before it’s fully baked into your iPhone.
