Apple’s Upcoming M5 iPad Pro To Fix Front Camera Placement, Add Performance Boost

Apple is gearing up to launch the M5 iPad Pro series later this year, and while the upgrades may seem minor on paper, they’re exactly what fans have been asking for. According to new reports, the tech giant will not only equip its flagship tablets with the new M5 chip but also finally fix a long-standing complaint – the awkward front camera placement.

The M4 iPad Pro models brought massive design changes, including incredibly slim bodies and cutting-edge tandem OLED displays – a first for iPads. However, in the pursuit of sleekness, Apple moved the front camera to the landscape edge, which proved frustrating for users trying to FaceTime or take selfies in portrait mode.

With the M5 iPad Pro, Apple plans to address this by adding a second front-facing camera on the portrait edge. This improvement, reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, means users will now have a seamless experience whether they’re holding the iPad vertically or horizontally. It’s a small but meaningful fix that many will appreciate.

On the performance side, the M5 chip promises serious power gains, being built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm N3P process. While display sizes – 11-inch and 13-inch – will remain the same, the internal leap should keep the M5 iPad Pro among the most capable tablets on the market.

In the meantime, the M4 iPad Pro is still an excellent buy. With discounts starting at $100 and going up to $300 for the 2TB model, it’s a compelling option for those looking for top-tier tech without waiting for the next release.
