Apple Unveils iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26 Beta 3 for Developers

Apple has rolled out the third beta versions of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26 for developers, allowing extended testing before the official release. These updates are available for download now on compatible devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Macs, with other updates like watchOS 26 and visionOS 26 also being released to developers.

Here’s how you can grab and install these beta updates on your devices.

To download iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 beta, head to the Settings app on your device, but make sure your Apple ID is linked to a Developer Account. Without this, the OTA update won’t appear. Once that’s done, go to General > Software Update > Beta Updates and follow the prompts to install the beta. This process is the same on both iPhones and iPads.

For macOS Tahoe 26, developers can grab the latest build from the Software Update section in System Settings. However, be aware that there’s currently a bug preventing installation on M-series chips. Intel-based Macs can still install the update through the same process. Remember, your Apple ID needs to be tied to your Developer Account to get the OTA update.

In addition to iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26 and visionOS 26 have also been made available. To install the watchOS update, your Apple Watch must have at least 50% battery life and be connected to a charger. Then, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, go to General > Software Update > Beta Updates, and follow the steps to download the update.

The visionOS 26 update can be installed directly from the Settings app on the Vision Pro. While developers are still exploring the new features in these betas, Apple’s interface redesign, called Liquid Glass, stands out. It remains to be seen how users will respond to this new design when the updates are officially released alongside the iPhone 17 this September.
