Apple’s 2027 iPhone Lineup May Include 6 Models, Including Foldable

Apple might be gearing up for its most ambitious iPhone release ever in 2027, with rumors suggesting the company is planning to launch six new models, including the long-awaited foldable device.

These new models could be rolled out in two separate phases, potentially making this the most diverse iPhone lineup in Apple’s history.

The leak comes from Instant Digital, a trusted source in the tech community, who shared that we can expect six new iPhone models next year. According to the leak, Apple could debut three models in the fall: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the rumored iPhone Fold. Then, in early 2027, Apple would reportedly release three more models: the standard iPhone 18, a lighter iPhone 18 Air, and the budget-friendly iPhone 18e.

If the rumor holds true, this would mark a significant shift from Apple’s typical strategy

. For comparison, the current iPhone 16 series has five different variants, and Apple has traditionally launched four models in the fall. This would be a major change for the company.

The iPhone Fold is generating the most buzz among these potential models. Based on previous leaks, it could feature a 5.5-inch outer display, a 7.8-inch foldable screen, dual 48MP cameras, and a battery larger than that of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. While Apple has not confirmed any foldable device yet, this could be the company’s first real entry into the foldable market.

There’s also speculation that Apple may release these devices in two stages. According to earlier reports, the high-end models could launch first, followed by the more affordable ones in the spring. This phased release strategy would allow Apple greater flexibility with production and give customers more choices throughout the year.

In addition to these six rumored devices, Apple usually continues selling some older iPhone models. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are still available alongside the iPhone 16 series. If this trend continues, by 2027, Apple could have up to eight iPhone models for sale at once, including a potential iPhone 17.

With more models available, Apple could appeal to a broader range of buyers, but it might also complicate the decision-making process for customers trying to pick the right device. It’s certainly an exciting time to follow Apple as it prepares for what could be its most diverse iPhone year yet.
