Asus is no stranger to testing the limits of its devices, and this time, the focus is on the durability of its ExpertBook laptop. Dinesh Sharma, Vice President of the Commercial PC and Smartphone System Business Group at Asus India, recently appeared on Raj Shamani’s YouTube channel (which boasts over 11 million subscribers). 
During their 85-minute conversation, Sharma conducted a series of tests to push the ExpertBook to its limits and showcase its resilience.
First, he recreated a common real-life scenario: liquid spills. Dinesh took the ExpertBook and casually poured water from a cup onto it. While he didn’t submerge the laptop, the test mimicked what many users might experience in a coffee shop or at home. After shaking off the excess water and wiping it down quickly (though not thoroughly), the laptop was passed to Raj for inspection. To everyone’s surprise, the laptop powered up without issue – a successful first test!
Next, the pair tested the laptop’s screen toughness. Raj held the laptop by one corner of the screen, causing it to bend slightly. Despite the pressure, the screen held up, and no damage occurred. Raj didn’t stop there, repeating the test with the other corner. Once again, the laptop passed the test with flying colors.
The third test was a bit more extreme: Raj stepped on the closed laptop. While stepping on a laptop seems an odd choice for most people, it’s a useful demonstration of how durable the ExpertBook really is. Despite the pressure, the laptop survived without noticeable damage.
The final test involved an Ethernet cable. Dinesh and Raj attached a heavy weight to the end of the cable and lifted it in the air. To their surprise, the LAN port remained intact, even under the stress of the weight.
While the durability of Asus ExpertBook laptops continues to spark mixed opinions among online users, this YouTube experiment clearly shows that the laptop can withstand a variety of tough situations. The screen chassis, in particular, is surprisingly sturdy, making it a reliable choice for those who need a durable business laptop.
