CAPCOM has just announced a highly anticipated CAPCOM Spotlight livestream, set to take place on Thursday, June 26 at 3 PM Pacific Time (6 PM Eastern, 11 PM GMT, midnight CET) on the publisher’s official YouTube channels. Expect a 40-minute broadcast featuring exciting updates on both upcoming and existing titles. Among the highlights will be Resident Evil Requiem and PRAGMATA, two upcoming games that have caught the attention of many fans. Additionally, long-time favorites like Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6 will also be featured, continuing their support for loyal players.
Both Resident Evil Requiem and PRAGMATA were showcased during this year’s Summer Game Fest, where CAPCOM made a splash with new content.
Kai Tatsumoto, our dedicated envoy, got an exclusive look at both games. His impressions highlight key features that make them stand out.
Resident Evil Requiem brings a return to its signature horror atmosphere, with a demo set in a creepy, abandoned hotel. While there are no immediate threats like zombies, players encounter a chilling monster. This grotesque hunchbacked creature stalks the protagonist, Grace, and though it moves slowly, it’s still a terrifying foe. The demo reveals new gameplay mechanics, like a med injector-a tool reminiscent of Chris Redfield’s kit from previous Resident Evil titles.
PRAGMATA offers something different, combining atmospheric exploration with action. Players control an astronaut navigating a lunar station, leaping between platforms and unlocking new areas. The game rewards exploration, offering players fresh weapons and expanding the amount of healing items they can carry. It’s a return to a futuristic setting with undeniable echoes of Lost Planet, especially in terms of gunplay and technological world-building. Despite its short demo length, PRAGMATA shows potential for deeper, more immersive gameplay.
Meanwhile, Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6 continue to shine. Street Fighter 6 has just reached the milestone of 5 million sales, and both games are expected to receive ongoing support for the foreseeable future. It’s clear that CAPCOM is focusing on fan favorites while building anticipation for new titles.
