Raw Power Games, a new indie studio made up of industry veterans from titles like The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Assassin’s Creed, has unveiled Chronicles: Medieval-a dynamic sandbox RPG powered by Unreal Engine 5 and the studio’s custom ‘Asgard’ tech. Set in 14th–15th century Europe, this title promises to immerse players in a living, ever-changing medieval world driven entirely by player choice.

This isn’t just another Mount and Blade clone. Chronicles: Medieval goes deeper, offering a robust mix of open-world exploration, grand-scale battles, historical authenticity, and full player agency. From diplomacy to bloodshed, you carve your path-whether it’s as a warlord, a merchant prince, or a renegade mercenary. Every move you make has consequences that ripple through a persistent world where factions rise and fall dynamically.

Combat is a major focus, designed to be both cinematic and brutally grounded. The game incorporates historical units like English longbowmen, French cavalry, and Imperial infantry. What sets it apart is its dedication to realism, brought to life with input from Historical European Martial Arts expert Björn Rüther. Expect weighty, fluid weapon handling that feels authentic and tactical.

Beyond the battlefield, you’ll customize your character, recruit and train troops, build and defend your holdings, and engage in custom battles solo or in co-op. With no fixed narrative, you’re not following a story-you’re writing one. And if you’re into modding, Raw Power Games is hinting at giving players the freedom to reshape the world, tools included.

Community feedback will play a central role. According to Senior Designer Andrzej Zawadzki, the team wants to develop the game hand-in-hand with players through early access, playtests, and open Discord engagement.
