It’s been three weeks since the release of Elden Ring Nightreign on May 30, and players are already showing impressive creativity in navigating Limveld with the game’s diverse tools and abilities.
Some of these inventive tactics are making waves on the r/Nightreign subreddit.
One notable post by user u/Quantam-Law caught attention this morning. The user shared their experience using Raider’s ultimate to create a new platform for entry during the Noklateo Shifting Earth event. Rather than charging straight at the city gates, Raider used their abilities to bypass the front line and enter from a more strategic position. The Shifting Earth events, like Noklateo, are random occurrences that alter the map, introducing new areas and encounters. Raider’s platform-building strategy got players thinking about other potential ways to utilize these events for faster traversal.
Raider isn’t the only player discovering shortcuts. Another post by u/Mockz showed off a clever skip during the Crater Shifting Earth event. By leveraging their abilities and a touch of gravity, Mockz was able to reach the bottom of the Crater quickly, avoiding much of the event’s tricky challenges. Then, user u/ninjabladeJr joined in, sharing their own dangerous but effective skip to the Crater’s bottom, utilizing a spectral hawk and precise timing. Sure, these skips are risky, but they allow players to bypass numerous encounters and head straight for the boss, skipping a lot of the grind.
And if you think that’s impressive, some players are even finding ways to scale the Mountaintop event by simply “Skyrim-jumping” up the cliffs, proving once again that Nightreign’s Shifting Earth events are rich with opportunities for clever navigation. These creative skips show how players are already experimenting with the game’s design to find faster, smarter routes.
However, the real-world viability of these tactics is still up in the air. While the Noklateo totem-skip could work in random lobbies, attempting the Crater spectral hawk skip with uncooperative teammates could lead to disaster, with players possibly being knocked out of the run.
Despite the potential risks, the creativity shown by players bodes well for the future of Elden Ring Nightreign. While speedrun leaderboards aren’t live yet, these innovative skips are already sparking excitement for what’s to come when the community fully explores the game’s mechanics.
