Critical Role Confirms Video Game Set in Exandria – A Dream Come True for Fans

Critical Role fans, the wait is almost over! The team behind the popular Dungeons & Dragons show has confirmed that a video game set in the world of Exandria is in development.

While we’ve known for some time that something was in the works, the announcement officially solidifies our excitement. In collaboration with Los Angeles-based developer AdHoc Studio, Critical Role-featuring stars like Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Matthew Mercer, Travis Willingham, and Taliesin Jaffe-will bring us a unique gaming experience unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Although details remain scarce, the game is set to take place within the rich and detailed world of Exandria, a setting beloved by Critical Role fans. While we may be a while away from playing, the team is hard at work deciding on game scope, budget, and all the elements that will make the game truly special. As Travis Willingham mentioned, the team is still “tossing around ideas,” but we can rest assured that the game is going to be something worth the wait.

But that’s not all! In addition to the game, Critical Role is teaming up with AdHoc on another exciting project: a narrative adventure called Dispatch. Due for release later this year, Dispatch will be a “superhero workplace comedy” that stars several Critical Role cast members, including Laura Bailey, Matthew Mercer, and Travis Willingham himself, alongside big names like Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad and Jeffrey Wright from The Last of Us. The game will let players manage a quirky team of misfit heroes, balancing their heroic missions with office politics and personal drama. If you think this sounds fun, you’re not alone-Willingham has called the animation “absolutely amazing” and even compared it to a fully-fledged animated show!

As we look forward to the release of Dispatch, the future for Critical Role fans has never looked brighter. Whether you’re into tabletop gaming, animated series, or now video games, there’s something for everyone. Although there’s no word yet on the game’s title or the exact ways it will tie into the broader Critical Role universe, one thing is clear: the team is dedicated to making it a true milestone for their legacy. With their 10th anniversary just behind them, expect even more surprises on the horizon!
