Crunchyroll Drops Major Anime Reveals at Anime Expo 2025

Crunchyroll brought major heat to Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles this past weekend, lighting up the main stage with surprise reveals, emotional cast appearances, and jaw-dropping trailers.

Fans were treated to big news for legendary titles and fresh adaptations that promise to dominate screens in 2026.

Perhaps the loudest cheers came with the return of Black Clover. After a four-year anime hiatus, Studio Pierrot is officially back in the saddle for Season 5. Creator Yuki Tabata personally took the stage, celebrating the anime’s 10th anniversary and promising fans a “powered-up” season full of intensity and passion.

Crunchyroll also confirmed that Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4 is underway. Voice actor Yusuke Kobayashi surprised fans with a special teaser featuring Subaru and Emilia. White Fox and returning director Masahiro Shinohara are aiming for a 2026 premiere, so buckle in for more isekai chaos soon.

But the crown jewel of the panel? The anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s Daemons of the Shadow Realm. From the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist and animated by Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, My Hero Academia), this dark fantasy series follows supernatural twins Yuru and Asa as they battle for their birthright and the fate of their world. Directed by Masahiro Ando, known for Sword of the Stranger, the teaser was brief-but enough to send fans spiraling into hype mode.

Crunchyroll didn’t stop there. The panel unveiled a teaser for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3. Though still in production, we now know Ryosuke Shibuya is back to direct, and the soundtrack will come from Apocalypse Hotel‘s Yoshiaki Fujisawa. Studio Bind is aiming for a 2026 launch.

You and I Are Polar Opposites, based on Kocha Agasawa’s rom-com manga, will begin streaming in January 2026. Produced by Lapin Track and directed by Takayoshi Nagatomo, it teases an opposites-attract dynamic between Suzuki and Tani that could charm fans of series like Horimiya.

Also joining the upcoming roster is Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider, premiering October 2025. This unique title stars a 40-year-old man reigniting his childhood dream after a fateful robbery. Directed by Takahiro Ikezoe and scored by cult composer TeddyLoid, it could become an unexpected hit.

Classroom of the Elite 2nd Year continues the beloved mind-game saga. While fans await new episodes, Crunchyroll launched the Merge Puzzle Special Exam game on Game Vault. This marks the game’s first release outside Japan-and it’s completely free, with no ads or microtransactions.

With 2026 shaping up to be a blockbuster year for anime, Crunchyroll’s Anime Expo 2025 panel set the tone-and the bar-extraordinarily high.
