Bohemia Interactive has just revealed the exciting next expansion for DayZ, titled Badlands. This new chapter takes players to the arid landscapes of Nasdara, a vast desert province packed with surprises.
Expected to launch in 2026, the Badlands expansion promises a world full of new challenges, including scorching heat, new infected variants adapted to the harsh desert environment, and a slew of survival mechanics.
The expansion will introduce the largest official map in DayZ’s history, spanning 267 square kilometers of desert terrain. While the desert may seem endless at first, players will uncover towns, ruined cities, oil fields, and more-each offering their own tales of the post-apocalyptic world. The environment itself is filled with hints of history, adding a layer of depth for those who enjoy discovering hidden secrets.
Desert survival will be a major theme, with players needing to manage hydration and avoid the unforgiving sun to stay alive. New infected variants have also been adapted to thrive in this harsh desert world, making them even more dangerous.
