The game’s new release window was confirmed in a fresh trailer revealed during the PC Gaming Show, offering fans a glimpse of what to expect from this intriguing title.

The trailer gives a peek into the day-to-day life of a Demonschool student, and surprisingly, it’s not all about hunting demons. While battling supernatural threats remains central to the experience, there’s plenty of variety in the activities available, ensuring players won’t get bored as they progress through the game.

Last year, I had the opportunity to try out a demo, and I was impressed by what I experienced. While the demo didn’t offer as much variety as the new trailer suggests, it was still enough to showcase the game’s engaging combat system and stylish aesthetics. What really sets Demonschool apart from other RPGs are the quirks in its combat mechanics. For instance, units can only move in straight lines, but the Sidestep maneuver allows them to adjust their position without using any Action Points (AP). This gives the player a lot of tactical freedom when positioning units for attacks.

One of the most intriguing elements of the combat is the way attacks work. Each time you strike an enemy, they’re pushed, which makes it possible to set up combo attacks from unexpected angles. But it’s not just about defeating enemies; players must also seal a portal by reaching the opposite end of the combat arena with one of their characters. Combine this with character roles, demon respawns, and special attacks with unique effects, and you have a combat system with tons of strategic depth. It’s a complex challenge that could take time to master but offers an extremely rewarding experience once you do.

Demonschool is set to launch this summer on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch. If you’re a fan of tactical RPGs with a Persona-inspired twist, this one’s definitely worth keeping an eye on!
