Descenders Next Launches on Steam and Game Pass With Snowboarding and Mountainboarding

Descenders Next has officially dropped onto Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Pass, taking the high-octane biking sim into bold new territory.

This surprise release by RageSquid and publisher No More Robots doesn’t just revisit the downhill madness of its predecessor-it rewires the extreme sports genre from the ground up.

More than just a sequel, Descenders Next expands the series’ DNA with snowboarding and mountainboarding added to the mix, offering a wild fusion of speed, tricks, and terrain. The devs proudly state that the early access build already includes as much content as the original, complete with full online multiplayer, complex trick systems, and sprawling biomes.

Instead of relying solely on procedural tracks or fixed levels, the new game blends off-piste, procedurally-generated mountain terrain with crafted parks for a more seamless, natural ride. RageSquid is aiming to create a living, breathing world of adrenaline sports that will evolve with new disciplines over time-though they’re staying tight-lipped on what’s coming next.

The game is available right now for $29.99 / £24.99 / €28.99 on both Steam and Xbox platforms. If you’re a subscriber, it’s also included in Xbox Game Pass across PC and consoles.

While PlayStation and Nintendo fans are still waiting, RageSquid previously hinted that a Switch 2 version is likely, and PlayStation support is on the roadmap-just with no confirmed date yet.

With Descenders Next, RageSquid isn’t just making another sports game. They’re crafting a modular extreme sports playground that’s poised to grow and evolve over time. Whether you’re dropping in with a board or a bike, this is just the beginning of the ride.
