Destiny 2: Edge of Fate Expansion Kicks Off the Fate Saga

Destiny 2’s latest expansion, Edge of Fate, is here, officially kicking off the Fate Saga.

Available now across all platforms, this update brings a fresh wave of content and some serious changes to the Destiny 2 experience.

Guardians will find themselves joining forces with a new ally, Lodi, as they face a threat that predates even the Traveler. The story once again revolves around the mysterious Nine, with the universe hanging in the balance. Set in the enigmatic new location of Kepler, Edge of Fate promises plenty of secrets to uncover.

Armor 3.0 has arrived, bringing an overhaul to the armor system. Along with this, a revamped user interface aims to make the experience smoother and more intuitive. Perhaps the most welcome change is the removal of the paywall for seasonal content, ensuring that players can enjoy everything without being locked out. Additionally, a new permanent shooting range has been added, offering Guardians a place to hone their skills at any time.

While the expansion is live now, the highly anticipated raid, The Desert Perpetual, will be launching on July 19, 2025, giving players a new challenge to conquer.

It’s no secret that Bungie has faced some struggles lately, but Edge of Fate offers a glimmer of hope. Despite the delays surrounding Marathon, the plagiarism scandal, and internal troubles that point to leadership issues, this expansion could mark the start of a much-needed win for the studio. For those developers working tirelessly to fix past mistakes, here’s hoping this marks a turning point. Fans are eager to see Bungie rise above its challenges and continue its legacy, rather than fade into the background.
